I have a small flock of Ryelands (11 including one tup) that will need shearing next month (May). We're in Barry, Angus.

Anyone know a good shearer in the area who would be able to do them?

Have you got any meighbouring farmers that have sheep? Moght be worth seeing if you can run yours over to a neighbour and get them done at the same time.

Otherwise you will struggle and you will pay through the nose. We had 50 yearling sheared the other day and had to pay more £70 as it was a small group. It will be worse for only 11.

I paid £30 last year for eight, which wasn't bad. I just think of it as a welfare issue and bite the bullet. I'm not keen taking them to anyone else in case they pick anything up.
