runner beans with 'greenhouse burn'
« on: April 21, 2011, 10:12:09 pm »
We seem to have gone from heating the greenhouse to pollinate seeds to 'greenhouse burn' in just a few weeks. The weather is wonderful but I have stupidly 'burnt' my runner beans. Will they still be ok to plant out as some seem to have new green leaves coming through (not all plants are burnt anyway), or will it be a waste of time planting them out?

Will probably be ok - as long as the growing tip isn't damaged.  It's not too late to start a few extras off in pots, just in case - my last sowing sprouted on the windowsill in 5 days  :D

Why not put a layer of shade cloth over the  top of your glass house to cut out the excess light  and stop burn from the glass on to your plants.
