So the hatching begins again!
« on: April 06, 2011, 01:11:14 pm »
I took 6 silkie and silkie cross 6 week old birds to their rightful owner last, his eggs, I just hatched and reared em.  Good job I did as I looked into the incubator yest and the eggs were pipping!

So the brooder has been cleaned and made up ready for the next lot of infants, real mish mash in the incubator this time, guinea fowl, legbar and scots dumpy. I put the guinea fowl in a week before the poultry in the hope it would work, so far, 3 legbar have hatched another nearly there or could have hatched by the time I finish this post, 2 guinea fowl nearly there and one just pipped.  The scot dumpy arent showing any signs as yet but this lot are a bit early, they arent due til Friday!

Right, what else to hatch...............decisions decisions!

Oh, Guinea fowl, are they called keets?  Do I feed em on chick crumb?
