Gumtree Adds?
« on: March 25, 2011, 04:21:52 pm »
Hi, have only one male left now but I wonder about Gumtree adds, I put the first advert on and got a funny request, forgot what is was but a question, I only said I had pups available in reply and the add got taken off so I wrote another, that was OK, then I re did an Ad, then had 2 other enquries, one from some one in a flat, asking if that was OK, so this time I wrote a long condition thing, e.g. pups cannot do stairs, need to be taken out for toilet etc, walked, kept company etc etc and that was the last I heard, just posted again and some one else has said they were going to be out at work, so again, I posted conditions pups should be kept in and not heard anything...I wonder, is some one testing me out as the written question was very american or at least not typical use of words. I do know people can keep pups if they work as long as some one is around to take them out and provide some company at least !!!!!!! Any one else had this sort of experience with Gumtree adds for pets etc???

we sold two cockerels on gumtree, to a lovely family...

but I wonder sometimes at the ads that are on there - dogs at a funny age to be selling, huge reptiles, "rare" cats & kittens.
(Mind you, I look at Preloved, and raise my bloodpressure shouting at the "micro pig" ads!!)

use your judgement - the right home might well be out there Sandy  :)

I like 'Adtrader' in preference to gumtree or preloved. I don't find I get as many strange/unsuitable replies. It's free to advertise, you can do it on the web and the advert will appear in the paper too.

I re-homed Jamie my LS Cockerel last year to a lovely family near Kinross.  I got him to put his own advert on Gumtree and it went down a treat - half a dozen folk wanted him.  I posted photos of him too.  I had absolutely no issues with Gumtree at all.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Just wondered why I have had at least 3 strange requests that seem to be testing if I would sell dogs to anyone!!!!!!! I have used other sites and had good feedback, has anyone ever seen all the silly adds on Gumtree? Photos of someones mate wanting a girlfriend for instance, they make me laugh !!!!!!!!!! We have some brilliant homes for the dogs, no problems so far!!
