« on: November 23, 2010, 08:29:04 pm »
would really appreciate some advice here as what i am to do with regarding the goats moving onto
new pastures when we move home in 3wks,
again sorry for having to bring it up again but as a novice these kinda things are important for me to know ;)
so question is: do i need to worm them again before putting them on as they were wormed recently say a month or so and there is
horses running on same pastures.
thanks in advance langdon.

Hi Langdon, perhaps have a check with the vet and see what they think? mine are really helpful over the phone about these things and you would have a definitive answer. Sorry I can't help but haven't moved home with my goats and when i bought mine they'd never been wormed (that's how one died possibly, moving to a new environment that had previously grazed sheep)
sorry I can't help!

I would worm them before you move- a few days in advance. Best to leave whatever worms they have now behind. When you get to the new place, I would keep them shut in for a couple of days until they get over the stress of moving.

Lol, its ok Langdon. Sorry for not making myself clear. I just meant that if they have worms now, its better to worm them shortly before they go and then they won't be taking worms with them because they should killed off!
