Hello everyone. We have two pet lambs (which will stay pets), they are 6-7 weeks old and have been with us for a week now. They were on three bottles a day, which we reduced to two yesterday, and they have pellet feed and grass available during the day. At night they are inside with straw. They are however not very keen on the pellets, they will nibble at it, but eat maybe 50 grams each, if that. They do graze most of the day, though. Beeing completely new to this, I am unsure how to go about weaning. There are so many different methods/believes .... On the Lamlac bag it say they should it 250 grams of "hard feed" - they are far from doing that, but how does the grass count into that?
Also, one of the lambs has had softish droppings in the last days, not scours, more like dog poo, which I've read might be due to too much protein (which in turn might be a hint to start wenaing?)? He seems absolutely fine otherwise, jumps aroud, grazes, devours his bottle - the farmer we got him from said he wouldn't worry about it. Any thoughts here?
Thank you!
