Sorry for the total newbie question, it will be one of many.... we are having a shelter delivered for our two lambs.... what flooring does it need? At the moment it has no floor.... so they will be directly on the ground which is currently grass ....I have straw to give them a bed.... my horse has rubber matting do they need something similar?

If they have access to a paddock so wont be in the shelter all the time I wouldn't bother with a floor or bedding.


If they will be locked in there then it will soon get paddled up and you will need some bedding.

An open fronted field shelter doesn't need a floor, just strawing up.  Eventually (years) the depth of straw and manure becomes a wonderful well rotted manure which you can dig out and use on the veggie patch.  Just be sure the drainage from the roof doesn't fall so it runs into the shelter.
If it has a closing door and is very small, then it may need flooring, as harmony says
