Hi everyone hope you’re well.
I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas for me I have a five-year-old KuneKune pig who last week was sedated to have his tusks shortened as they are cutting into his face and causing him pain. Ever since this has been done to him he has become rather aggressive and last night he attacked his companion pig. For those who are worried the companion pig is fine he’s just got some scratches but we have had to separate them as he is terrified. I’m concerned as my pig is normally extraordinarily friendly and I can’t think of any reason why he’s turned like this. I’m wondering if this has happened to anybody else whether this could be a possible long winded side-effect of the sedation? Any suggestions would be helpful. Please be aware of my pigs are pets and I am a vegetarian. If they cannot get along they will be placed in pens next to each other so that they can still communicate and will be brought out into the garden separately would just rather keep them together as they’ve always got on so well.
