We have been at our current location 4 years a love the smallholding if that is what you can call us! We are green as can be,all organic, free range and endeavour for frugal living..or maybe we are just peasants :o!

Hello and welcome   I too love being a peasant - nothing derogatory about it.  I work on the land and come from a long line of others who also worked the land.  Enjoy it  :farmer:

Did you see a tv prog a while back where John Prescott was travelling Britain talking to 'working class' people?  He spoke with some unemployed young women, one of whom said she wasn't working class because she didn't have a job.  To her being working class was something to aspire to, which Prescott missed.  She hit on a fundamental truth there.

We are all so lucky to have access to land and be able to work it.

Love your soil - it's the lifeblood of your land.

Welcome from Clackmannan, the Wee county in the middle of Scotland.  Not a smallholder as such, just got ducks and hens and loads of dogs, but I also have an acre - just garden but trying to muss it up a bit, not having a lot of success with veg but I have THREE apples!  Am I chuffed!  I'm down your way three times a year at our dog club events. At Catthorpe Manor for our Le Weekend in September.  Weather was lovely.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age
