Escaped owl?
« on: September 15, 2010, 11:59:49 am »
When I was last at NK we had been hearing an owl for several nights then one night it swooped over our heads, then turned and swooped the other way.
It was low enough for us to hear the bells on its jessies.

So the question is; Does anyone know if there is an escaped owl in North Lincolnshire?

You could try ringing the Independant Bird Register on 01748 830112 who may be able to help/advise of local falconers, owners of birds of prey etc. ( see their website www.independantbirdregister.co.uk)

I'm always worried that these birds will get themselves caught up by their jesses though I was told that can't happen. Can't see why it couldn't though.
