RCOM 20 INCY

Is there anyone around here that know's about the older RCom 20 incys?

The trouble with mine is i can't control the humidity.

I fill the tank & set the control to whatever i need, but it tells me that there's no water in the tank.

To get the humidity up, i need to spray the inside of the unit & that's ok during the day when i'm around, but at night the humidity all but disappears.
Losing 90% of all the eggs inside is becoming a royal PITA & is gonna become expensive if i can't get this contraption working 100%.... needless to say it's not gonna be used until this is sorted.

Doing some research online, i have found out that this is a common problem with these incys, but no one posts what cures the issue.
If it's as simple as replacing the humidity unit, then i can get one from P & T Poultry @ £30, but if it's a programming fault, then i gather it'll become expensive to repair.

Anyone else had the same problems with them & got them sorted ?

Hi we have the same one and had the same problem, we did a temporary fix by putting a piece of coiled copper wire on top of the metal rod in the water reservoir. My son has now fixed the problem by putting solder on the conection to the rod. If you want to speak to him PM me and I will give you my telephone number.

Oh and I forgot to say we found that we needed to recalibrate it, saying all that I have only a week ago decided to try it again and have 17 eggs in so waiting to see if it works ok.

Had an idea this morning....

I've opened up the guts of the unit, low & behold, it's all covered in muck & crap..... never thought about cleaning in there, obviously neither did the previous owner either   ::)

Baby wipes seem to be perfect for the job & i'm gonna spray a little wd40 into the turning motor as well, as it was a little too noisy for my liking (that's the mechanic in me coming out).

Gonna let it dry out for a bit, rebuild it & test.

Can't see the metal rod you're on about though   ???

Recalibrate ?  How did you do that ??
