Hi from new potential smallholder

Hi guys. Thanks for letting me join. I'm about to buy a smallholding in Wales. It will be new to me, having been a professional gardener for the last 20 years.

I wonder if someone could please point me in the right direction as to some links as to what I'm legally allowed to do with a smallholding. At the moment I'd like to have an orchard and a few animals, grow some vegetables, and have a flower garden.  I plan on starting small and learning fast :).

Thanks in advance for any links. I can't find any sensible info via Google.

 :wave: and welcome from Shropshire. You will need a CPH (County Parish Holding) number to keep animals and a herd number, both free. Lots of info in the tabs at the top of the site here.

We haven't had an offer accepted yet, but are looking in mid Wales, Llandrindod or thereabouts.
