Cucumber.   

I've just been out to water the plants in the coldframes and checked the cucumbers which are all about an inch long still, then noticed a nice big one hiding behind the pole - 10 cms at least.

Very excited here - now, when will my tomatoes start to appear?

I've just been out and picked 6 mini cuumbers and we had 3 last week, this is the second year I've grown them they are really easy much prefer them to toms

Gave up with tomatoes, the last two summers the weather has been so bad, they hardly ripened.  Have lots of veg growing, but up here, over 1,000ft up, things are a lot slower, and we do not plant out until ....well, now.  Been frosty a couple of nights recently.

We're at a 1000 feet too and can only grow tomatoes, cucumbers, even sweetcorn, courgettes and climbing beans in a tunnel.  I grow cherry toms which ripen quickly but cucumbers are wonderful tasty snacks too, and always ready earlier.  Mine are still impatiently waiting on the bedroom windowsill to be planted out    But we have started eating them

First year with a greenhouse, i love anything  I can grow in there - toms, courgettes, sweetcorn, gherkins, aubergines, peppers - all new to me! I only ever had green toatoes for chutney before
