My miniature donkey mare has itchy lumps over her which eventually become little scabs.  I have washed her with Malaseb shampoo and sprayed Frontline on her.  I can't work out whether it is some form of mites or a skin problem.  I can't see anything on her which looks like fleas etc.   I did have the vet out who said to spray her with frontline.

I've got a horse that does this - turned out to be a sensitivity to sugars!  He now has molasses-free everything and is much better, but still gets the odd one or two when the grass is particularly high in sugars.
