Oh WBF I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you  have a.candler to check them earlier on next time?

No sadly not, but I will try and get one. The lady said she candles her eggs, but am not sure whether to trust a breeder again who says that. How much are they?

It's not perfect and I'm sure that a proper candler is best but my daughter candles our eggs using a strong torch shining through the egg. Either holds them in a box to do it or takes the eggs into the trailer, dark room etc.

She is better at understanding what's going on than I am and can see enough to say that the eggs are viable. Veins developing in the egg, chick moving etc.

In terms of a candler...I actually use my iPhone. If you've got a smartphone with a torch setting (or download an app) just take egg to a darkish place. Works a treat.
