Where can I send my fleeces?
« on: June 10, 2016, 07:24:21 am »
Can anyone recommend somewhere where I can send my sheep fleeces to be processed? I need them to be washed and processed to the stage of balls of wool! I don't have the facilities or known how to do any of this at home. All the fleeces are free from pesticides. Thank you.

NFC very good but 20kg minimum.

Griffiths Mill excellent, anything from one fleece up.

Halifax Spinning Mill will also do any amount from one fleece up, and with him you pay on processed weight.

In all cases, send only very well-skirted good fleeces - it's a lot of money to pay to process poor fibre ;)
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
