CPH number
« on: May 06, 2010, 12:46:22 pm »
I'm just looking into getting started in pig keeping (hopefully next year) and looking into different options with land etc. and getting myself a bit confused. When I have a CPH number do I need to get another if I decide to move to other land or do I need 2 numbers for different areas etc?

Since it's the LAND that has the number, each land holding must need its own number. I think.

Yup - definately right, each piece of land should have it's own holding number. You'll need to register for a herd number for your pigs closer to the time and I think it'll be a different one for each respective CHP number too. But your local animal health office will be able to keep you right.
