The pigs are away
« on: October 28, 2015, 06:57:32 am »
Some of you may remember that one of my 11 week weaners had a bad prolapse back in June. I wasn't too optimistic at the time but she and her sister are on the way to the abattoir as we speak.

The pigs are owned jointly between us and our neighbours. Luckily one of those is an ex nurse and the other a paramedic. After the prolapse had been stitched they washed the pigs rear every day for a couple of weeks with a warm saline solution and the pig nuts were soaked to soften the stools. We have continued to soak the nuts for both pigs the whole time we have had them.

Looking forward to getting my meat back now  :)

Well done! Glad all turned out ok in the end.

Luckily one of those is an ex nurse and the other a paramedic.

Had a wry smile at the above - pig treatment on the NHS - wonderful! ;D .
Enjoy the meat!
