What is your goats favourite treat?
« on: June 21, 2015, 12:07:46 pm »
We've recently got our goats, and would like to give them a little treat after milking, but they don't seem keen on carrot or apple.
What do you give your goats?
How many acres how much light
Tucked in the woods and out of sight
Talk to the neighbours and tip my cap
On a little road barely on the map

Hi !! Firstly enjoy your goats, brilliant animals  my females loved a rich tea biscuit atbed time but I had males, one of whomloved hula hoops, I would put them on my fingers and he would gently remove them and gobble them up. I have to admit that there were lots of thing that they all loved ,:- jacket potatoes left over and cold, bananas with skins on , corn on the cob, cob and green, tortillas, grapes, peaches, the boys would take the whole thing then spit the stone out !!! Lots really anything I could get from my local pick your own, who put by anything they thought was past its sell by date. Goats loved it all!!!!  :sunshine:

As special treats my girls love rich tea biscuits (the finger shaped ones are ideal!) or cream crackers. I give them bananas too - sliced into discs,  skin and all.

My goats love carrots, apples (most of them), any kind of cabbage, pears, bananas etc. --  BUT the best treat of all is oat cakes. Just rattling the cellophane wrapper has got them all standing to attention!

Two ginger nut biscuits after milking. I've started bringing my in-kid goat in to stand on the milking bench. It's seven months since I last milked her but, before she'd get down, she looked at the biscuit tin expectantly.

I did have a goat who loved salted peanuts.

Apple, banana, any fruit really.  Biscuits, bread, carrot, but mostly they have horse treats.

Apples and carrots are always happily eaten as well as digestives as a treat, but their favourite is dried apricots!

Thanks all, I tried them with a digestive biscuit this morning but they weren't interested, think I have fussy girls!
