i finished the founfation for the path(that seemed to take forever)
its measures 100m+  width 5ft  depth 1ft.
this path is going through the animal field from gates up to the sheds.
the whole family were laughing at the thing all of the time,
at times i was questioning it myself!!
anyway we rang aroung for chippings, hardcore to fill it in.
the cheapest price given was 180 pounds!
i said to beth they are having a laugh, it seemed everyone was having a laugh about this project.
after ringing around again we got a price of 45 pounds for 10 ton!!!
its coming next week, i think i may need more but i got some stones etc around the place
which i will chuck in to fill the gaps.
so there you are shop around first, dont be ripped of by anyone

I think these days it really does pay to shop around a ask for a bit of a discount

Times are hard and its a buyers market (good and bad I guess depends on what side you sit on?)

Yes- about 4.50 per tonne seems about right for your chippings based on 10 tonne wihch should be a 6 wheeler lorry load- but mind that these guys often quote net of vat and possibly without an aggregate tax- even with this added your not doing too bad, epsecially with the chippings are clean. also a point to note is that they might seem quite dusty when you get them but a good shower of rain witll sort that out for you.

what about deliverly. we can get the chippings easily enough but the cost of getting them to us is twice thecost. can only get asmall truck to us. by the way a truck load of chippings is going to be a lot of work so take your time.

my father in law said 40 quid wouldnt even cover his diesel!!!
