Lambs

Hi I'm wondering if some one can help I have 5 Wiltshire horns. I have had 2 lamb so far with triplets. The first was not complicated but the third was still born. The second one although the pregnancy went smoothly and three lovely lambs came out the third was rejected by mum and is on the bottle but is happy. The first two one rear right leg bends too far forward I'm not sure if it's missing part of its knee joint? And the second is walking on its front knuckles can I strap them both as otherwise very happy little lambs..... Suggestions/views great fully received!

Sometimes they get a bit squashed up when their are multiple births so have a word with the vet about manipulation and flexing exercises. The knee joint or the plate can lock or stick in young lambs and this is again more likely when growing lambs are short of womb space. A bit of gentle flexing can help and the only one of mine that ever had it was one of triplets with the 3rd still born. It locked intermittently which caused her to do that curious occasional hop that jack russels often do. It just corrected its self over a few days with no long term problems.

If your lamb has it held forward I would think that it is probably locked. Pop them both in to the surgery for a quick check up and put your mind at rest.

We have a triplet born this morning that is walking on her front knuckles (just the hooves bent under).  Going to ask the vet to take a look so will let you know what they say.
