Before you take anything out, check your house insurance - you may find you are already covered.  I believe the National Pony Society and British Driving Society both offer cheaper memberships with similar cover, but certainly the BHS name has a lot of clout to it if you do have a problem.

Yes, we dropped our ridiculously expensive equine insurance when my horse was found dead in his field and the company wouldn't pay out. As we are now just happy hackers we decided to cover vet bills ourselves and only wanted public liability insurance.
So we got the BHS Gold membership and Im happy with it. It covers all the family and with the other membership benefits you get I think its jolly good value
Is it time to retire yet?

Kimbo that's the route I went also ,between my horses and trailer it was so expensive and I had never claimed in all the years I had it

Rosemary wish I knew about them first it's even cheaper at £52 a year which includes public liability and as you say helps support them
