Anyone else adding cod liver oil as a supplement? Good source of vitamins A & D, allowed by Defra, and cheap as marbles from the Co-op.

Interestingly my "Tesco high strength cod liver oil capsules" have the shell made of Beef Gelatin, so I could not feed these

Yes I do. I use the oil produced for livestock, it comes in 5 litre bottles and cost about £15. I mostly use it in the winter when sunshine is in short supply (added to the feed just three times a week) but it's quite good to encourage a newly farrowed sow to eat as well.

Yup, my experience is very similar, the pigs just love it, but again moderation is the key. As I recall the correct dosage is 10 mls per pig per day in feed.
