On my bit of valley/hill in stroud I have a bunch of sheep being overwintered who arent worth anything/much and will be sorted out in June next year.
Among them are two pedigree shetland ewe lambs, I had pink eye go through my flock all summer which was terrible to be rid of and the shetlands got it worse out of any other breed.
This ewe lamb is fully healed and no infection left however is is now blind as a bat in one eye
Where I keep the shetlands its steep, with rivers, and ditches and banks and reeds, this isnt a good mix as at the moment I am having to pull the dim creature out of whatever its stuck in every single day
I am going to catch it and bring it home to the rest of the sheep in Reading tomorrow, and If I cant figure out what to do with it then unfortunately we will have it shot, this is due to welfare reasons because of the land we run on and the sheep she would have to live with.
She would have to live on her own for 2 weeks as the tups are still in so not very good welfare
She can see but looses the group of sheep and she gets stuck looking for them and ends up in the river whilst going for a drink
She would suit a smallholding with solid fences and no rivers or steep banks, her eye may heal, who knows but just wondered if anyone would be interested, I will probly keep her for a couple of weeks to give her the chance of finding a home
Her wool is the best out of all the lambs were, however she is 1/4 sheared at the moment as we had to cut her out of a bush
She is white, her mum was grey katmoget and dad was white, she is pedigree but I didnt register her
