The family of Menezes however deny this, and Foreign Secretary Jack Straw stated that he believed Menezes was living in the UK legally, but had no precise information to confirm this.[2] Immigration records in fact show that Menezes entered the Republic of Ireland from France on 23 April 2005. There are no records to show the exact date that he returned to the UK; however, under the Common Travel Area system, a foreign citizen entering the UK through the Republic of Ireland has an automatic right to remain for three months. Therefore, Menezes was lawfully in the UK on the day he was killed, irrespective of his previous immigration status.[3]
Hello Aengus0g,
as you see from the above section , which I have seen in several other transcripts , JCM was NOT an illegal at all . What the reason for that being talked about by Police and Mp's I can only imagine. JCM was going about his normal life ,and WAS entitled to be where he was , the same as you or I . He was doing nothing wrong at all . He wasn't at any time asked or commanded to stop , either at his home or on the buses he took or at or in the the train station . It also transpired that the police lied about the warning given to him once he was sat on the train , no such warning was heard by any of the the witnesses and in fact no such warning was given .
It is very worrying indeed . I was less than 100 yards from a pub that was blown up in the mid 70's in London . I was knocked off my feet as were many others who where also in the pub . People were cut and injured by broken glass and we all thought the bomb had gone off IN the pub we were in.
It was however the one up the road . I came out of the pub as did everyone else to see utter carnage . A policeman was walking along in a state of what must have been shock , although he quickly gathered himself and started to help people . People everywhere were covered in dust , blood and their clothes were torn . Then we realized where the bomb had gone off . We went to the scene to be confronted by an horrific site . The pub was blown to bits , along with the many people inside . There were many terribly injured people calling screaming and moaning , there were many who were silent . There were also many that were fatally wounded , limbs blown off, still trying to move , to get away, I don't know what they were doing, it was terrible.
All around there were also body parts everywhere , it wasn't a nice situation at all . We all tried to help everyone we could , but how do you help someone who is only half there , the rest of them is all over the street ?. This situation went on for what seemed like a lifetime , but slowly help arrived . The thing was , many of the people who were in the pub I was in were Irish , and many of the voices all around helping the wounded and dying were also . At no time did any of the police who were by then around, start shooting them or even looking at them in a suspicious way , although everyone knew it had been an IRA bomb.
Everyone helped as best they could , and I had nothing but admiration for all the people there including all the policemen who were fantastic . How the times have changed !!!
Missinformation , lies and deception , propaganda and more lies , seems to be the way the police force is run today . A far cry from some terrible times in London that I was innocently a part of !!
cheers
Russ
