Hello All,

I have accepted a job Harvest site supervising Ebbw Vale Forest and Cwm Carn forest drive and forest and the surronding areas. My area is a bit like a rectangle top left Merthyr, middle left Pontypridd, bottom left Cardiff, bottom right newport, mid right PontyPool, top right ebbw vale.

I'm looking for a room in a house for myself and my springer (though she can live outdoors, as i'm not a fan of dog hair in the bed, at present she has a crate she sleeps in at night in the kitchen) in return for farm work within or just outside the area above.
I can only work after 4pm on monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday evenings as I will be communiting back up to Aberystwyth (with dog) to see my Hubby and son, and will return sunday evenings, My day job working hours are 7.30-3.30pm with some overtime (either earlier or later).
I am happy to pay bills and rent, as i realise i'm not available all week, and maybe around less some weeks than others.

I have experience with pigs, cattle, sheep, alpacas, and i can hand milk goats and cows as well as use a portable unit. I dont have much confidence with horses, but did ride as a child, and happy to lead them in and out of a stable (willing to learn more). I have limited tractor driving experience, but again willing to learn. I used to advertise smallholding sitting service on here, but wont be able to run that any more, so would like to keep up with my farming skills.. runs in the blood, so hard to ignore :)

I dont need a place to stay till September 1st and can put it off by a month, as I have had an offer of a house share on a farm near Abergavenny for a month or two.
I am looking till March next year in the first instance, if you think you only have work for a few months, that be ok, as i could possibly find elsewhere.

So far she hasn't chased livestock, but i've always had her on a lead, I also hope to train her up as a gundog (first practice and test on sunday).

Please PM me here.

Its a shame your not coming up to Aberdeenshire to work as there would be plenty that would jump at the chance of an extra pair of hands ,good luck in your search !!!
