Ok confused now...kinda makes sense because they're ruminents, but I thought beet had to be soaked.....how much do you feed  them so no chance of them swelling up ?

They don't HAVE to be soaked, but mine prefer it that way... but not too wet either. If you feed them dry make sure you have plenty of water nearby.

Do be careful with feeding dry beetpulp- yes they do generally like it, however, once it gets into the stomach, it swells there rather than swelling in the bucket with the hot water you have added. If you give them too much dry, it will swell too much and give them a tummyache (or worse).

We use Kaolin and Morphine mix when a goat is actively scouring- but it sounds just like yours is loose due to the nice rich grass. It wouldn't impact the milk though if you do need to use it. Just be cautious trying to buy it- becuase its got morphine in the chemists don't really like selling it....  :innocent:

I would be trying some other carbohydrates for her- flaked barley, flaked peas, maybe some bran to try a bran mash or Alflafa.

I feed sugar beet nuts, just covered and soaked overnight, this just softens the nuts enough but not sloppy, then they get their minerals sprinkled on that, so the minerals stick to it.

Hi ! Would not keep worming without feacal eggcounts or you will end up with resistance ,especially if you don't know the weight of the goat as they are usually heavier than they look, underdoseing is a disaster waiting to happen.
Unless I missed something you don't say if its a first kidder ? But it would have been good if you'd got more info from its previous owners re feed and coloured bowls etc as goats can be very capricious, love routine and have excellent memories !!!
