Has any one got any advice.... my quails have started to eat their own eggs . I know with chickens that you extract the inside of the egg out and inject some mustard but it will probably be nearly impossible with quails eggs is there any alternatives?

lots of bedding so the eggs are hidden from view? try and find the culprit? or smear the eggs with tabasco instead?

Pop some marbles/ appropriate stones in the area they lay. Might help confuse them.

I decided to leave it and see what would happen and nothing has been eaten since!!!

Any chance that rats or something like that had eaten the eggs?

I would have thought so.... it is all enclosed I did actually see the quails eating the eggs but seeing as it hasn't happened since, I think they must have just found some cracked eggs and eaten them rather than cracking them themselves.

My quail have eaten a couple of eggs but like everything with them it does seem to be random rather than a habitual thing. They peck an already cracked egg and end up eating it but it doesn't seem to turn them into egg eaters.
