Milking machine bits and churn, Warks
« on: April 07, 2014, 08:32:44 pm »
We have two stainless steel churns, one of which has an old pulsator thing on it and very old cluster, assume needs some kind of motor/compressor/machine to attach to it!  If they're of any use to anyone, then we're open to offers, else they will probably have flowers planted in them or be chucked in the scrap pile...

Where abouts are you? I'd be interested if not to far away....... Have family near Welshpool or Wrexham so could possibly get them to help....

If Sbom doesn't want them, I might be interested.  Sis gets about a bit in the Midlands (spins and weaves all over the place - I mean on a wheel and a loom, not that's how she drives! lol) so we could probably organise pickup.

I've no idea what they'd be worth.... anyone?

Sorry for delay - We're back in Warks now, though can't seem to change my settings!  Between Rugby and Leamington...

I think I feel daunted by not knowing a darned thing about what I'd need to do to get it hooked up and working!  I already have a churn thingy (without any attachments) for if I ever do get a working cluster and so on.

I had thought I would be wanting to be using a milking machine come lambing this year, but here we are lambing and I don't have one and I am managing milking by hand - just.  I'd still buy a working setup if one came up, but I think I probably have more than enough 'projects' without taking on one where I know I know nothing about the equipment!

It basically hooks up to the vacuum pipe in the dairy which allows for the suction for the milk, they are usually used for fresh calver's or mastitis cases to prevent them going into the bulk tank. Not sure how they would work unless you can create some for of vacuum to be able to milk.

Sally there is a milking machine on ebay which is fab have been watching it for a while, they have other ones in their listings as well.
