Just seen on the stewardship centre's website, might suit someone?  Info copied from the events page at www.centreforstewardship.org.uk

New Farmer Scheme
Where the land gives life to the people and the people give life to the land
The Falkland Estate farm has earmarked land for new farmers to rent. The plots are suitable for horticultural use and will be from 0.5 to 2.5 hectares. The home farm at Falkland is run organically by Falkland Rural Enterprises Limited (FREL).  The aim is to contribute to wise food production and to do so in a way that is economically viable. The new farmer plots are a way of supporting new entrants to farming. Do you want to take on a plot? You will need to be committed to organic growing and to be able to commit to five years rent.It is not essential to have previous experience but you will need to come up with a plan that looks as if it will work as organic horticulture and give you the returns you need.  To find out more in the first instance contact us.
