Hi - I'm new here, but I saw a few people are either trying to build a chicken coop plans or they are looking for one.  I figured I would tell you how I built mine.   First off, I looked on the backyard chickens website for a lot of coop ideas.  Then I took the "not so good a building, girly cheater" way out.  I went on Amazon.com and bought a 2x4 basics shed kit.  It pretty much comes with a bunch of these plastic adaptors that make it so you don't have to cut any angles in your wood or anything.  Funny enough... most of it is made with 2x2 not 2x4.

biggest thing is to make them fox, badger, rodent proof… and easy to clean

We use a shed kit as summer housing for our non-breeding hens. We creosoted the panels before assembly and cut wide slots at the top of the apex at each end and wired them over to prevent wild birds and rodents getting in but allow hot air to escape.  We built it onto 2 x 4 inch skids with big bolts through them so we could tow it around the field.  Works very well and was a third the price of a much smaller purpose-built coop.  I just put a chunk of wood across one corner as a nest area and pegged in a piece of half-round rail as a perch.
