can anyone advise?
I stupidly accepted cookies from a website yesterday and now im inundated with pop ups. iv tried deleting cookies and add ons and doing a system restore (which wont complete for some reason). iv also done a screen for viruses which came back clear.
any idea what to do as I seem to have 3 or 4 on the screen all the time?

Hello
You should try blocking the pop-ups from your browser settings.
If you're using Chrome, check out this

struggling with my own computer at the moment but i think if it's just pop up windows you can set the browser to block pop-ups - in firefox it's under tools, options, click on the content tab and there's a tick box there. I guess it'll be somewhere on the other browsers too.

the pop-up blocker is already on....
iv had "internet explorer failure" / "encrypted error" messages coming up but iv managed to stop them. now the pop-ups are adverts for something, which are hard to delete, and often come back when I click the mouse - or just on their own.

one last thing - since I lent my laptop to my son - the screen is now at 90degrees to what it should be. I can get it to rotate around again by pressing a few buttons but have to do this every time I turn it on.
any idea how to put it back to its original setting??

If you mean the taskbar is at the side instead of the bottom just right click on it it gives you choices of tiling vertical or horizontal then lock the task bar when you have it the way you want it.

If you have any more problems, malwarebytes.com is a good site to down load a free thingy to sort it out. (You can tell I'm really computer savvy, can't you?  ;D )
