How long to lamb if milk is squirting?
« on: March 24, 2014, 11:40:20 am »
Hi there

only 6 of my ewes were coloured by the raddle, for some reason it didnt show up on my pure shetlands, too smooth a fleece?? not sure

Anyway if I judge it that they might be due to lamb from when the rams went in and not from the raddle marks that the other ewes showed, they could be due any time from tomorrow

Yesterday I noticed a little black shetland gimmer on her own and went over to see her, she has milk squirting from her teats when she walks or lies down (pressure on her udder) and she is baaaaing alot.

Her belly is the biggest of the first timers, she may be in lamb to a shetland ram or may be in lamb to a commercial ram, I dont remember milk coming so soon to a first timer, I know in pigs it means piglings within 24 hours (well in my ones anyway) in sheep is it pretty much the same thing?

Cant wait to see my first pick and mix lambs  :excited:
