Picking up the ducks on Saturday (a bit excited)
« on: February 20, 2014, 01:59:37 pm »
well we've had the chickens since last spring and have loved every minute of them. They have just been given a lovely new house (plastic version) due to them so totally deserving a fab new pad. Last weekend we found a lovely duck breeder and the next thing we had reserved 2 female ducks (hubby has always wanted a couple of ducks  ::)) so we are picking them up on Saturday. Needless to say they required a different house to the chickens so our new dog kennel (only been used a couple of times by the pooches to dry off before coming in the house) has been relocated for the ducks. So now I have muddy kitchen floors but hopefully the ducks will appreciate it. Off to buy a plastic swimming pool/sand pit thing and duck environment should be ready for our new guests. Need to think of some names for the new girls.... ideas welcome

My step dad spend ages building me a luxury duck palace when we got two ducks for my youngest son, they are called Dora and Lorna (after Dora the Explorer from the television, and Angus's swimming teacher!), and they are very happily sleeping in the hen house with the hens.  Haven't told my step dad!

Hope you enjoy your ducks.
