I think just two would be lovely (unless three were friends all together?). I have years to grow a goaty empire

I'd much rather keep animals that are really tame and handled, (at least for the first ones), even if it means it's much more upsetting to send them away. The ones I looked after before were ex-commercial dairy and had I guess been handled loads: they'd run over when called, could be led on a lead and so long as they had something to eat, they were happy to be milked or have their feet picked up or anything. This is what I'll try to achieve. So maybe wait and later get two goatlings would be fine?
Tattycat, your toggenberg cross sounds like my springer spaniel, happy with everything!
Hearing comments from sokel and penninehillbilly that Boers are hardier make me think that is the way to go.
I tried to email Scott Moir, (Googled his name and goat and turned up at the Boer Goat society) but it failed to send. Does anyone have his email address?
