Smallholder Insurance
« on: January 21, 2014, 06:42:44 am »
I'm looking at buying some land of around 14 acres near my home. There are three small barns on the land. I already keep pigs and sheep on a friends farm but this would be my first venture with land of my own. I would intend to also keep a few cattle. There would be no arable apart from a large veg patch and perhaps  a small polytunnel.

Can anyone recommend any firms that provide decent insurance policies.

Regards, David

I use NFU, they also have my house insurance and when we had a problem a few weeks ago with water getting in they were less than helpfull. Will be looking to change so will follow this post with interest.

Daisys mum, not knowing the details but sounds a bit unfair on the NFU. It is the householders responsibility to maintain the house the insurance company is there to sort things beyond your control.
