I've got a puffin pig?  ::)

Pru the pig and Patrick, the visiting boar have been together for a few days now and for the last two nights, when I've fed them, Pru's antics has put a real smile on my face.
Their evening meal has been made up of loaves of sliced bread thrown on the grass. Now Patrick is a steady eater and he slowly munches through his meal slice by slice but Pru's style is far more frantic. She races around picking up the bread but she doesn't eat it straight away. She collects it until she has fifteen to twenty rounds stored in her mouth and then retires out of her mates way to eat it. Her technique reminds of the pictures that you see of puffins on the rocks with sand eels held crossways in their beaks.

I'll try and take my camera with me this evening.

I had a pig that did that, usually trotting off to hide her share behind an ark or whatever.  It was hilarious but wasted an awful lot of time - when the slow eater eventually finished, she'd amble over to the "hidden" pile and start to scoff that too, much to the dismay of the first pig.
