SMALL BALE HAY- DEAD CHEAP !!
« on: October 14, 2013, 06:48:27 pm »
Hi
we have 50 spare bales of hay made by us this summer- put into barn the day it was baled. cut from our pasture with no additives, no ragwort. can't pretend there's not the odd thistle but it does our sheep well and look at the price. the bales are smaller than the average small bale so £2 a bale it is- buyer must collect and if someone can take it all in one go £80 the lot !!! I NEED MY BARN BACK

Wish you were in Central Scotland - I'd take the lot!  But I think Devon is a tad far sadly..  ;)

Been out and measured a few this morning. The baler we used was a fabulous old piece of kit, the only baler we've ever found that we could fit in our field, but its quaintness seems to extend to inconsistency of bale size. Average size seems to be 31 inches X 18 inches X 15 inches ( for those of you born after 1970 that is 79cms X 46cms X 38cms) ( smallest are about an inch smaller each way and some bigger ones a couple of inches bigger. I've never measured a "normal" small bale but my best guess is that ours are approx. 3/4 size
