At this year's Smallholder and Growers festival in September the Woodland Trust Scotland is hosting a Q&A session on the benefits that planting native trees can bring to a smallholding, and some of the financial incentives that are available to help plant, presented by my colleague Andrew Campbell. Andrew has years of experience in forestry, and can still occasionally be found shimmying up trees to give them a tidy.

To broaden out our panel we're looking for someone else to join us. Ideally this person will have planted trees on their holding and found something good came out of it, whether that's seeing more wildlife, having a new supply of woodfuel, or even getting berries to make jam or wine.

In exchange for an hour of time on the day we'd happily sort out two tickets for the festival. If you or someone you know would be interest interested please get in touch with me through the forum, or email me at [email protected]
