Goslings

I have just found out what people mean about goslings following you around. I took them out into the garden today, after putting them in a dog cage for a few minutes, I sat on the grass with them and wondered what they would do if I took them out of the cage. Then we went for a little wander around the garden. They walk to heel better than my dog! LOL.

I know!

Completely in love with mine. They are a bit like toddlers though in that they wander off and then suddenly realise they don't know where you are and panic and start yelling for you.

Mine also make it near impossible to do any work as whenever I start anything they are there investigating to see what I'm doing and generally getting in the way.

And so it continues.....mine are full grown and still follow me around and get in the way whenever I try and do something. Comparison to toddlers is very apt.

After an exhausting 1/2 hour with a friends children spending time with the goslings, I put them back into the brooder after they fell asleep in my arms.

I have just been to check on them, in the couple of hours while I was having tea and then putting the chickens to bed, I can't believe the speed in which the goslings grow. It seems like everytime I turn my back they have grown. I think they must have doubled in size in 2 days.

They are a delight to have and drawing lots of attention.

They sound very sweet! Ducklings grow at a ferocious speed too - at least compared with chicks. I keep looking at the chicks and wondering when they'll be big enough to let into the main run, even with mum in attendance, whereas I look at the ducklings and wonder how long I can possibly keep them enclosed because they seem way too big to be inside but still have no sign of feathers (and are only two weeks old). Hoping for goslings next year!
