Grazing wanted (temp, seasonal or longer term) North Fife
« on: May 30, 2013, 09:18:28 am »
Just wondered if anyone nearby might have or know of a field going spare for at least a month asap, ideally as close to Lindores, north Fife as possible as I don't have much spare cash for diesel to keep an eye on them and can't afford livery rates.

I am waiting for the sprayer to come and he usually does 2 paddocks, waits a  month and then does the other 2, so I can keep the (Highland) ponies on the land, but last year the delays meant  by the time he did the second lot it killed the dockens and nettles but the ragwort plants had grown so big they still had to be hand pulled or cut to remove the dead/dying plants at extra cost so if I could get 3 fields done in one go and hand pull the last by hand, it would be far better.  He was due last week during the nice weather, but could come anyday now so the faster I shift the stock, the better and I may have use of transport on Sunday if I play my cards right!

I have up to 7 ponies that would benefit from some better grass, tho I'd keep the breeding stock at home obviously, just yeld mares, youngstock and geldings to try and find a holiday home for, either just a month or so, or would take up to the end of the grazing season if required and happy to discuss longer term repeat business.  I don't want riding facilities or anything other than securely fenced grass with a water supply.  Someone willing to phone if they see anything urgent would be a bonus.  If no space for 7, even 2 or 3 away would help manage the small reserve field I have currently to maintain 7 on for that month..

I'm not averse to a barter arrangement as an alternative to cash, happy to discuss.  From eggs and mucking out to massage and service to a bay Highland stallion, fruit for winemaking later on or a share of a veg patch here - open to ideas.
