Orf question
« on: April 16, 2013, 09:04:23 pm »
I know this was discussed a few weeks ago but two of my kids, same family. Have sores around nose an eyes. The eyes are my concern as quite scabby and sore looking. Is there anything safe to put on? I was going to try washing with hibiscrub as anti-viral but not sure if it will sting.

I'm sure it is the thistles in the hay and I will be glad when this batch has been used up.

didnt want to read and run but i thought id let you know how mine are.
The scabs round their eyes and mouth have dried up tho they do still look sore but i havent put anything on them as they are healing. Dont know if its looking worse because the 2 affected are white and so the sore bits really do stick out.
Hope yours are on the mend soon too

Thanks, i can't decide if better. As you say where the colouring Is paler they look worse. Certainly doesn't stop them eating or playing.

There's an eye ointment - orbenin -if it looks like a secondary infection is a problem but close to eyes it probably best to just watch it, can't really put anything on without irritating the eyes.
