I keep coming across two different equations for weighing pigs.

[Girth (inches) * Girth (inches) * Lenght(inches) ] /400 = Weight (lbs)

OR

[Girth (inches) * Length (inches)] / (10 for skinny pig, 11 for regular pig or 12 for fat pig) = Weight (lbs)


which one has everyone found most reliable?

We use the second one, but only because it's the only one we can do in our heads while PigOne and PigTwo are milling about around us and checking the underside of our boots for any walnuts we may have just happened to have bought along....

You can also just divide the weight in lbs by 2.2 to get the weight in kg.
