Its the first time I have been happy to see weeds

It means that at least something is growing.
Everything seems to be so far behind and the ground is cold but at least the weeds have given me some hope  ;D

Our daffs  are all in bud and have been so for weeks now , but too cold for them to open.  I went to get some logs from our local man a couple of days ago and growing through the tarmac on his drive was a much run over and walked on celandine with a single blossom , looked so cheerfully opptomistic  :fc:

as we keep our chickens in a back garden, we are always weed free...so I collect weeds while out with the dogs and there is nothing around, the ground is hard and dry in most places, even noticed the farmers ploughing with dust coming up.........who knows what's in store?

I have daffs in flower in a tub and there are signs of life with tulips coming through.  It's beginning to feel like spring might, just might, be round the corner.

My willow fedging is covered in pussy willow buds and we have a few daffodils. A part of me didn't believe Spring would ever come...

I think it's the first time I've been happy to see the back of snowdrops. Daffodils are well underway and even the odd hyacinth is open. Tastes of spring today at least (including al fresco lunch). However, I don't understand the logic that says we can plant as soon as weed seeds are germinating because it seems to me that weeds germinate all the time and although 8° today felt balmy, it's surely not time for most veg seed yet?

The Ribes curran is finally starting to flower and there are signs of bumble bees trying to find the pollen from it. It is usually in full flower right through March.

It is suddenly spring and there are no veg seeds in the ground with the weather being so dismal. The growing season will be even shorter this year  :tired:
