Hello from Sussex

Hello,

I'm Tony Smithson from Sussex. I'm sort of semi retired (was into dairying but now just keep my hand in helping other farmers) with a small flock of Texels, a couple of Red Polls and two pigs (a large black and a large black/duroc cross). Great to see such a site encouraging people to have a go at the outdoor life.

Regards

Tony

hello, great way to retire, the government should help ALL retired people to have a smallholding or grow stuff :D

hi Tony welcome to the forums, I've been on less than a week but  think its great - everyone is so friendly and helpful but the great thing is that we are all generally into the same things.

Thanks all for the welcome. I must say it's great being busy and not having to worry about making sure the money is coming in.

Hi Tony...welcome to TAS...warning...I made the mistake of retiring from a life of commerce and thought that keeping a few animals would be fun...I now work 24/7 run a mixed smallholding with rare breed cattle, pigs and sheep, also keep hens, ducks and goats, operate a Farm Shop and attend local Farmers' Markets three saturdays a month...hard work...but would I change it...not for all the tea in china! Retirement...who needs it!

Very best of luck
