Chook minders.

Ive always said that its a shame that apart from the chooks, our animals do nothing to earn their keep, apart from loving us and keeping us amused. Well not any more. Our boys have become security men for our chickens. They stay together all day and seem to get on so well. They go right up to each other and suss each other out, they eat treats together when I throw them out, and they follow each other around. I feel happier about letting the chooks out of their run to free range when the boys are there, hopefully its putting the foxes off. Ill try and get a piccie of them all together. Jethro our cockerel enjoys their company the most I think, a bit of male bonding. Its a lovely sight.

Ours are happy with the chickens, we had a chick that was brought up under a heat lamp after its mum abandoned her. after she came off the heat she moved into the goat shed and within days she used to sit on the goats backs while they wandered around the shed
