pheasant popholes

Hi
I have a large panel pen in a paddock which is moved frequently. I can't help but think that I would save some time letting them free range in the longer days (I am not at home before 6pm). So I was thinking of still having the pen but put in a pheasant pophole so they can freerange in the paddock but get into relative safety at dusk? I know I still run the risk of predation but thought this would be an option.
Thanks.
