Oaklands and RaisinHall, I worded the topic very badly

as what I was meaning was, that with everyone going on about not being able to produce pork from a couple of pigs to make it worthwhile, I was really pleased with what my pork worked out at

It was also not a dig at my local butcher either, as they are very good and you pay for what you get when it comes to meat!
I was talking to a man at our feed supplier the other week whos brother is selling up as he said it was costing him more to produce the pork than he could sell it for. His figures were £7 per kilo to produce and selling at £4 per kilo - someone was getting a real bargain
So when in the butchers I took note of what they were selling pork for, so it wasn't a rant about the price of pork it was more to say that you can produce your own cheaper and tastes so much better
I had no outlay in buildings for the first pigs - they got a corner of the steadings and fencing was all ok, so I did not have to add on those cost either
I meant the post to be a positive thing and not negative as it does indeed sound once i read it back
