Can anyone please advise me if there is or should be a withdrawal period for egg consumption after a hen has been injected with ALAMYCIN LA, we have a hen that is a bit under the weather although has improved since the first injection, once again I would be grateful for your guidance.

It should tell you on the leaflet that comes with the medicine.

I would ask vet as I thought it wasn't liscenced for chickens and not advised to use in egg producing animals

Thanks Manian, looks like I may have made an error, will definitely speak to the vet tomorrow, not wanting to do any harm to her.

i wouldn't beat yourself up..... our vet's given not liscenced meds to our chickens before and we withdrew eggs for a month and then ate them ourselves for the next (well i say 'WE' - OH got them :innocent: :innocent: )
often they are not liscenced because trials haven't been done rather than not good for them. (as in children in humans- drugs are often unliscenced for children; just adults)
she picked up so not doing harm and better than the alternative :-J
