Caring Parents

Thought it was a wind-up - when my OH had a call asking if she had any small chicks & could we deliver 3 to an address 15 miles away, at a set time on a certain day  ???
Well, it turns out that it was for a wee 5 year-old lad, who had been hand-turning his 6 eggs in a home-made incy in the corner of his room - bless - & he'd been marking-off the calender as he went.
His dad had read about candling & realised non of the eggs were going to hatch & didn't want the wee lad to be disappointed when he got home from school - awh - so we took 4 of our smallest over & my OH found an amazing handmade "brooder" set-up in the corner of the lads bedroom, along with all the new bits & bobs
She then found that she had to explain to the mum that a cockeral is required for eggs to be fertile - oh dear  :roflanim:
My OH had a lovely email this evening from them, thanking her & to say the wee lads absoloutely thrilled with his new "babies"  :chook: :chook: :chook: :chook:
Just wanted to share this touching story with the TAS community  :eyelashes:

It's a lovely story. Good on the parents. It would have been lovely to see the boys face at seeing the chicks
